It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that livestock is exclusively chickens, cattle, or sheep. Yes these may be the most common to sell and of course there is always a market for them.

For farmers it can be a difficult decision to make. If you begin rearing another type of animal you often have to spend more time marketing it. Sure everyone will buy a chicken but there are fewer who will buy a guinea fowl for me.

That isn't to say there isn't a market for some of the more unusual animals but sometimes the buyers need convincing. My aim with this website is to show you various options to try to bring in different and multiple streams of revenue from your farm. We all know relying on one stream can be risky as the weather, among other things, can turn our best laid plans upside down. By diversifying our farming activities, we can spread the risk of a catastrophic financial meltdown.

It is this we will discussing on this page.
